Last night I had a vision that I felt carried a message for us all. I saw the body of a great green serpent with a copper colored mane. it was in a tangled writhing mass. This was not an ordinary snake but a monstrous creature. Its head was hidden within the tangles. When I looked further for its head I saw it: a gaunt, blackened (as if burned) face. It was clearly in great emotional pain. I felt moved to give it some living water. Two draughts and it lowered its head gratefully and began to disintegrate. In the place of its ringed body I saw people, individual people emerge, and begin to move autonomously.
When i see this, I understand that the serpent represents the unconscious, unsatisfying, unsustainable, monstrous way of life we've collectively created that seems impossible to break out of -- everything seems tied up with the need for money (green and copper). You'd like to step out of the cycle but there's no clear alternative that isn't somehow negatively impactful too.
Once I see the head of this creature I understand the pain it's in -- I feel moved to give it my gifts, pure gifts of Spirit and it is grateful and can rest now. In the place of its tightly held & organized scales come people, a multitude of people, now individual and autonomous.
In this I see that as we can look deeply and see the source as it resides in our own minds . . . as we behold with compassion, we are moved to offer our true gifts to the world that is thirsty for them. And as we do, it becomes clear to us that what once seemed an impenetrable monster is just people -- people now free to be just who they are. When we seek, we find that we are not dealing with a faceless impersonal machine but the suffering of all humanity. And that giving the gifts we each bear is the medicine that we need to set all of us free.
In love and peace . . .Trina
